Résumé

This article is a careful examination of the oppressive influence of patriarchy portrayed by Tsitsi Dangarembga in Nervous Conditions. It deeply scrutinizes the despicable vices of Male hegemony that reduces women to subordinate positions and subservience. All the same, the female characters point out a flawless resistance against this patriarchal control. This research paper aims at reconsidering the domination of male chauvinism on African women. It can supply them with excellent discernment about their desperate living conditions. This article also promotes the restoration of gender equality, female dignity and social justice. First, we shall deal with 'Patriarchal Oppression in Tsitsi's Nervous Conditions' and secondly, we will throw light on 'The Restoration of Justice for Females in the novel under study'. Seeing that the novel under consideration is a faithful depiction of the corrosive effect of Patriarchy on African Women, the Marxist Feminism will be used as a theory for our analysis.
